Coral Beach, Isle of Skye
In northwestern Isle of Skye, near the end of a peninsula, lies Coral Beach. It is an easy though at times muddy 1 mile walk from the trailhead. At first, you can't see it, you just see rocky shoreline covered with little black rocks. But a bit more than half way, the trail crosses a small ridge and you see the beach a few minutes walk away! And when I arrived in the morning, it had been dark and misty but it was bright where the beach was! It doesn't really show well in my photos unfortunately. Beyond the beach, the train continues for a few minutes until you reach the end of the peninsula. A really fabulous rugged place! And since I arrived relatively early, I didn't see anyone else, other than some fisherman at sea, until I headed back.
