Edinburgh Hogmanay New Year's Eve Fireworks
Happy New Year from Edinburgh, Scotland! Welcome to 2017!!!
Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebration has multiple fireworks shows - very short ones at 9, 10, and 11pm before the final midnight fireworks. I viewed the fireworks from a park about a mile away - it turned out to be an excellent vantage point. One unexpected event during the midnight fireworks was that in addition to the fireworks at the city center above Edinburgh Castle, there was a smaller single launcher display at the park I was in. That made photography interesting as I had to recompose to try to fit both in. The smaller show ended a minute before the main show. The entire midnight display lasted 6 minutes in all. This was also one of the few fireworks displays where I was able to actually get a shot during the finale that I liked!
