High atop a rocky, craggy hill lies Edinburgh Castle. A royal castle has been present at this location for 1,000 years, and older defensive structures were located here well before then. One can easily see why! The oldest building still standing is the little chapel at the top dating back to the 11th century. A ton has happened here throughout history, more than I can remember especially given how confusing history is here!
