After realizing how far Glasgow is from the Isle of Skye, I left at 5am, more than 3 hours before sunrise. I finally arrived at Castle Stalker around sunrise. It was still dark and misty at the time but the sun was rising fast. Only the silhouette of the castle was visible in the distance. As the minutes passed, the castle was revealed! There isn't any access to the castle during the winter but I was able to see it from three distinct vantage points. Other than being really picturesque, the castle is also famous for being in the final scene of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
