Boca Negra Canyon
Boca Negra Canyon, one small section of Petroglyph National Monument, contains a number of easily accessible petroglyphs from the Ancestral Pueblo people as well as some from the Spanish settlers afterwards. The Mesa Point Trail consists of a short path up an approximately 75 foot tall escarpment. There are numerous petroglyphs all around. The extremely short Macaw Trail leads to the bottom of an area with a batch of petroglyphs while the slightly longer Cliff Base Trail does the same. There is definitely quite a variety here of all sorts of drawings. Many of them, one can only guess at their meaning.
