We visited Poipu Beach to see what the conditions were like on a wet and rainy day. There weren't too many people around but a few were swimming and snorkeling and a few were surfing near the shore. On the actual beach, we saw an endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal. This type of seal only exists in Hawaii. They often come out of the water on the beach to rest. The particular seal we saw in the afternoon had been there since 7am!

A few photos from snorkeling at Poipu Beach. This park has a small area that is protected from the surf, though some parts of it have strong current. There were more fish than I expected given it is basically right next to the beach. Not as easy, significantly smaller, and less variety of fish compared to Hanauma Bay on Oahu though.
