Nymph Lake
Upon arriving at Rocky Mountain National Park in the morning during the first snowstorm of the season, we drove directly to the Bear Lake Trailhead and started hiking to Nymph Lake. It was about 16°F when we started. Luckily, it wasn't windy at all. There was about a foot of fresh powder on the ground as we hiked. Traction was good, even without employing microspikes like we normally would in this kind of weather.
We quickly reached Nymph Lake. The lake's surface was frozen, though I wouldn't try walking on it this early in the season. Other than the beautiful snow covered trees around the lake, not much else was visible.
