Moraine Park Elk
We spent some time at Moraine Park in Rocky Mountain National Parking watching the elk. It is the end of the elk rut - their mating season. We saw two large bull elk, each with their own group of females. They were pretty far apart but at some point, they moved closer together. It seemed like perhaps the two bulls would come into conflict. They checked each other out at close range but ultimately decided not to fight. Not much else happened. It was rather cold so we didn't spend much more time watching them.
