Starting from the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center is the East Glacier Trail, a 3 mile loop going up into the mountains. The trail goes through areas that were covered by the glacier. Today, the area is a temperate rain forest. It is covered with green - moss, ferns, and trees. Walking along the trail was like walking in coastal northern California!
