Rapperswil is the site of a reconstructed wooden bridge, the oldest dating back to 1500 BC! The previous incarnation of the bridge was built in the 14th century and lasted until the 19th century when it was dismantled in favor of an adjacent newer route which is currently used for road and railroad traffic.
